A TikToker posted video of what they claim to be Bigfoot and described the experience as the “scariest moment” of their lives.
For the past century, there have been rumors of a giant, furry humanoid creature known as Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, haunting the forests and national parks of North America.
There’s not much agreement on Bigfoot folklore, save from a few hazy reports over the last few decades.
Eyewitnesses frequently describe the entity as a towering, muscular being that is between six and nine feet tall, with red or brown hair.
But this doesn’t address issues like “Is Bigfoot a single creature or a whole species?” or “Why haven’t any Bigfoot bones been discovered?”
According to one TikTok user (@e_man580), they have the best proof of Bigfoot’s existence to date, calling their encounter the “scariest moment” in their lives.
The nine-second video was shot in Lawton, Oklahoma’s Parallel Forest. It shows a guy lounging beneath a tree, thinking about life, and clutching a branch. Since then, more than a million people have watched the video.
The person behind the camera was obviously frightened when the creature turned to face the camera at the end of the video, as they quickly stopped recording and seemed to flee.
Opinions in the comments were mixed, with one person writing: “I believe this is 100% real, I’ve watched thousands of videos and pics of these things and the main difference with this one is the facial features move, in a costume, you can’t move the features…”
“Waiting for someone to debunk this cause I’m convinced,” a second person added.
Not everyone was persuaded, though, as a number of users brought up how strikingly similar the figure appears to be to a “Jack Links Adult Sasquatch Costume,” which retails for between $179.99 and $249.99.
This is a picture of the disputed listing.
Even though I’m not an expert in confirming Bigfoot sightings, the figure in the video does resemble the above suit quite a bit, down to the gigantic ginger beard that they both sport.
Since “you can literally see its teeth,” the commenter who stated they think this is a genuine sighting is correct—the costume even has its own set of teeth.
“Where can I purchase one of these costumes,” one person joked, while a second said: “I wonder if they were doing a commercial.”
“It can’t be him, the REAL Bigfoot is blurry, haven’t y’all seen the pics,” a third person joked.
What do we believe now? Is Bigfoot a real creature, or was the guy merely getting a good deal on his Halloween outfit from the previous year?
