Pregnant Teen Discovered Dead In the Woods After Disappearing With Unidentified Person

Tragically, the narrative of the pregnant adolescent who vanished in Georgia ends here. Mia Campos, 16, who was expecting her first child in the fall, abandoned her parents’ house and never came back.

The identity of the person she left home with is unknown, and her family is left with more questions than answers in the wake of her death.

The teen’s disappearance is still being looked into, and her family is grieving the loss of both their kid and her unborn child. In addition, the authorities have detained the girl’s boyfriend, who also happens to be the child’s father.

The teen was found by her family and police.

On July 14, in the evening, Mia Campos left her Loganville house with “an unknown person.”. Her corpse was discovered “in a wooded area just off the roadway” by her family, who utilized her phone’s tracking software to locate her when she failed to come home, according to a statement from the Gwinnett Police Department.

The first evidence discovered at the crime scene didn’t provide much insight into Campos’ possible cause of death. However, an autopsy revealed that the death was a homicide.

The police have only made one arrest.

The police declared that they had taken Campos’s ex-boyfriend, Jesus Monroy, into custody a few days after discovering her death.

“During that interview, they determined he provided false statements, and he was arrested in connection to providing false statements to a police officer,” Sergeant Collin Flynn told Fox 5 Atlanta.

According to Atlanta News, Campos’ family verified that Monroy was the baby’s father.

‘Thank God that I found her.’

Edward Campos, the father of Campos, said to Fox 5 that he and his wife Miriam discovered their daughter’s remains.

“Face down. It was hard. I knew something was wrong,” Campos shared. “Her lips and her nose. They murdered my baby.”

He clarified that they were able to locate her with the help of the tracking software.

“Somehow we came this way, and because I didn’t have a flashlight, I just had my phone. Then I said, ‘She’s right there.’ It just broke my heart. Thank God that I found her,” he said.

Her parents were surprised by the arrest.

Mia’s parents told Fox 5 that Monroy had been with them for two days after her death. “We keep praying every night and that’s why he came with his parents. That’s why I was shocked when they sent me the notice. I was like, ‘Wow,’” Edward Campos said.

The family still has a lot of questions, of course.

The family is attempting to put everything back together.

According to 11 Alive, Campos, the youngest of the five siblings, was seven months pregnant and expected to give birth to a son the family named Sebastian in September.

To assist with paying for Mia’s and the baby’s burial expenses, her mother, Miriam, created a GoFundMe page.

“I asked God to watch over her and her baby, now she and my grandson are in heaven with God. With all my heart, I ask you for help to give her and her baby a dignified burial, Thanks,” she wrote.
